What About Mormons
It is important to understand the doctrinal differences between Mormons (Latter-day Saints) and the Bible. While Mormons believe in the Bible, they also include other texts in their religious canon, most notably, the Book of Mormon.

Mormons insist that they are Christians and rarely discuss their unique doctrinal topics with those who are not Mormons. It seems as though Mormons are aware that if they share their full doctrine on somebody's porch, it will scare them. To explain my point, I have listed some of the doctrinal beliefs that are held in the Mormon church.

Mormons believe:
  • The Book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible
  • God has a goddess wife
  • There are many gods
  • The Trinity is three different and separate gods
  • Before we are born on Earth, we live in a spiritual world
  • Good works are necessary for salvation
  • God was a man on another planet in the past
  • We can become gods of our own universe
The best way to discuss salvation with Mormons is to focus on the issues that you agree on. It is easy to get lost in arguments about theological and doctrinal issues but if you keep the context of the conversation about the ten commandments and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, you should be good.
